On Saturday, July 16, Michelle and I arrived in Zermatt, Switzerland (at the foot of the Matterhorn) during a package tour that we enjoyed. This was at the end of a long, tiring day of travel, and as we unloaded our vehicle in the plaza, misfortune struck. I didn't see a 6" curb, and consequently tripped and fell hard ... first into Michelle, knocking her down, and then onto the cement curb. initially I feared that I had broken a rib, and while my self-diagnosis has now changed to a severe bruise, it is still causing me significant pain. The pain is enough that I am choosing not to ride today, even though I have not been able to ride since we returned home Friday (due to a variety of reasons).
