2022 mileage: 29.6
It's fun to be able to start the year off with a clean slate. Having done the math, I can say that if I can manage to ride an average of 13.70 miles/day throughout the year, I'll reach the very respectable level of 5000. If I can manage to do an average of 16.44 miles/day throughout the year, I'll match last year's 6000. And if I can push myself to 19.18 miles/day, I'll reach 7000. Now, I'm not saying that's my goal, but it's only a remote possibility because of the stationary bike that Michelle got us for Christmas 2020, enabling me to rack up high mileage riding inside on poor weather days.
While not starting off too early, I did get 2022 off to a good start by riding (at 8:00) on our stationary bike, while watching Mary Poppins Returns. This was a ride of 29.6 miles in 2:04.
While riding, I wore my party hat from last night, and Michelle came in and took a picture of me in action.
Last night we watched Michigan in the semifinal of the College Football Playoff. However, it was a discouraging showing by the Wolverines. Georgia steamrolled them early on; it was 27-3 at halftime, and Michelle and I left Christy's (where we were watching it) not too far into the second half. The final score ended up at 34-11.
